Lone Wolf Lodge

San Juan River Quality Waters
The 4 + miles of quality waters is said to hold over 80,000 trout. I don't know if that is accurate but there are plenty.

The river can be fished all year and almost all of it can be waded from mid summer through early spring when the flows increase. The lower section of the quality waters can be floated from the Texas hole downstream in a drift boat or pontoon boat, no motorized boats allowed.

Parking in the Area

The San Juan river Quality Waters are part of a New Mexico State Park. There is a parking fee to park in the area. Daily parking permits can be purchased at each parking area for $5.00 per day or you may purchase a season pass at the Park H.Q. above the dam.

Lodging Options
When planning your fly fishing trip we hope you stay with us at Lone Wolf Lodge, in the Colorado mountains, but if you choose to stay elsewhere that's okay. We can and will recommend alternate lodging near the river.

The quality water section of the San Juan is located about
1 & 1/4 hour south from Lone Wolf Lodge. We offer lodging and flyfishing packages and if you book a trip with us we provide transportation to and from the San Juan.
